Hull wyke under 8s turned up for there final game of the year against hull Victoria with a full squad again. Wyke started very strongly with quick trys from Lennie Clark and Will Kirby. This was on the back of strong runs from Finn Rebera, Jay Kirby, and Jack Lawler. This led to us passing the ball about which led to some great trys for James Farrar and Jamie whiting. The try of the game came from Jacob Hill (which was set up by a great drive from Elliot Johnson),who scored in the corner from a great ball from Ben Johnson. The second half started with the coaches telling the boys we had to do at least two passes to score a try and the boys didn’t let us down. We quickly scored two fantastic trys that went through at least five pair of hands with Seb Hawtree and Dylan Yeaman been on the end of these. Joe Wood was unlucky not to score after been pulled down 10 metres short. The last person to mention is Ashton Booth who has been a rock at dummy half all season and again had a great game. The game finished with the lads suggesting that we let Hull Victoria’s smallest player in for a try which I think goes to show what a great set of lads we have. Well done boys you have been a pleasure to coach all year, and let’s look forward to under 9s.
