Hull Wyke under 8s played Holderness Vikings on Tuesday night with both teams low on numbers due to school holidays. Wyke started the game strongly with strong running by Elliot Johnson and Jack Lawler which put us in strong field position for Ben Johnson to throw a dummy and stroll through the Holderness defence. Soon after with runs from James Farrar and Joe wood, Lennie Clarke was able to go over for another Wyke try after a long Ben Johnson pass. Tough Holderness tackling meant we was kept to 3 tries in the first half the last went to Elliot Johnson with a long run resulting in a great try. The 2nd half started with strong defence from the Wyke crew including Finn Ribera, Dylan Yeaman and Seb Hawtree. Will Kirby really came into his own in the 2nd half with some outstanding runs the first meaning jack Lawler managed to go over for a try the 2nd meaning he scored himself and the 3rd he set up Dylan Yeaman who backed up superbly. A special mention must go to Seb Hawtree who I thought covered at dummy half really well. Well done again boys you listened to your coaches and did everything we asked especially in defence.
Man of the match - Will Kirby
Parents man of the match - Ben Johnson
Great effort - Joe Wood
