Hull Wyke under 12s got back to winning ways on Sunday morning at Keyingham with a hard fought win over Holderness Vikings.
The away team got off to great start with long range tries from Kieran Broom and James Driver who both look far better players when running more direct, giving Wyke a 10 - 0 lead.
Wkye had the rub of the green at times in the first half with Holderness failing to capitalise on Wyke lost possession in their own half and the the forwards clocking off.
The Second half however was much better from Wyke who got off to a flyer when Driver stepped his way round the Holderness defence and set off for another long range try.
That was just the lift Wyke needed and their forward pack all stepped up in a dominant second half showing as Wyke put three tries on from Jack Cone(2) and Broom in a ten minute spell that took the game away from Holderness.
Keelan Mitchell had a big impact with some strong aggressive running and Jack Cone put in a big second half after a quiet first period.
This win was down to hard graft across the pitch but the pleasing factor was how Wyke dug deep and found something when they had to.
Well played both teams.
