The home team got off to a great start with forwards running with purpose and the half backs controlling the game well.
The strong running Jack Cone broke clear on a number of occasions in the first half and his mazy run from half way which turned East's inside out got the score board ticking. Jack Addison making sure of the extra two with a peach of Kick from near touch.
Wyke's early dominance was again underlined when Jordan Train went and matched his teammate with a break also from halfway and touched down in the corner.
Addison this time unable to add the two with a kick that just faded out.
With only a couple of minutes remaining in the half to this point Wyke had done well but a kick to the corner was taken on the full by east's and after a great counter attack downfield this set the position for East's to score an unconverted try for 10 - 4 HT.
The coaches asked for more of the same second half, but for some reason Wyke had started to become erratic and although they battled well they were made to pay for not making the most of some decent ball in their opponents half.
East Hull who had started to run harder as they got more into the game were led well by their number 9 who took the game to Wyke and probably changed it in East's favour, and after keeping East's out for most of the half three tries in the last quarter took the score out to 10 - 18 in favour of East's. A very entertaining game and more progress in the right direction for Wyke who continue to learn the hard way that good sides will come back if you let up!
