On a sunny but windy morning at cropton road the home side got off to a good start with Joe Mennell stepping his way over for 4 - 0.
Despite Josh Plummer being bundled into touch when returning the restart the home side were up for the task and defended their try line well to keep the Titans side at bay.
James Driver was next to score for Wyke beating several Titans players to run 60 metres and Broom added the extras.
By now Wyke had the taste for it and against what looked to be an improved Titans side Wyke showed no ill effects to being without half of their starting pack.
Oliver Kneeshaw was next over for an unconverted try for a half time lead of 14 - 0.
The second half started with Oliver Gillespie scoring near the posts for Jack Addison who had taken over kicking duties to convert.
A well worked move from Finlay Johnson who controlled his team well all game resulted in a disallowed try for Addison who was judged to be off side from a Johnson chip kick to the corner.
By now the Titans challenge had begun to wilt and on the back of some good metres from Adam Boyd, Wyke went on to score three more tries through Gabriel Rodrigues-Marinho, Jordan Train and Kieran Broom, all three attempts at goal by Addison going close but in fairness to both Wyke kickers this was not a day for goal kickers.
Another good defensive display from Wyke went a long way to securing the points, and the attacking side is slowly getting better.
The Challenge now is to keep this going in a more testing environment.
Special mention this week goes to Finlay Johnson who had a great game and Oliver Gillespie and Keelan Mitchell who had much improved games just when it was needed!
Well played both teams.
