Hull Wyke under 12s won at Dockers for the first time ever on Sunday Morning.
Wyke who admittedly made errors early on whilst in good field position came home with the win after a big second half performance built on defence.
6 - 0 down after 15minutes of constant pressure from Dockers the job got even tougher when Jack Cone got ten minutes in the sin bin. The 12 man Wyke team kept it a close but went further behind five minutes before half time.
HT12 - 0
At 12 - 0 standing under the posts the players made a commitment to each other that they would not give in and seemed to run more direct and harder. Good handling across the pitch put Tak Barker in at the corner and from there Wyke lifted.
Jack Cone returned five minutes in to the second half and a few minutes later powered his way over and with Jack Addison converting it was 12 - 10 with 10 minutes to go.
More good defence kept Dockers at bay and after good lead up play from their own half Captain James Driver sealed the win with a great try and got mobbed by his jubilant teammates.
The conversion was missed but Wyke still had to keep focused on the game and were told to calm down and complete the next set, which they duly did as the whistle went.
After seeing several games get away from them this season Wyke on this occasion were determined not to let that happen again.
Wyke were full value for the win against an excellent Dockers.
A VERY BIG WELL DONE FROM SOME PROUD COACHES.
