Under an overcast and threatening sky the lads walked out onto the field to face Hull All Blacks, an bigger and older team than them. With 8 lads on the field of play an accord was struck with the opposition to allow two of their substitutes to play along side the lads. So with the teams worked out at ten a-side play started.
The first set of six produced a try for Wkye, and the All Blacks first attack was repulsed on the line. The play in the first half was evenly matched with Hull Wyke coming out on top with 4 tries to 3. The second half was evenly matched with some free running coming in from both sides, and the obligatory 40 yards run for a 10 yard gain as the lads ran forward and back and side to side.
Some offloads were noted and some astounding tackles were made, and the result of the game being a fair result for a hard fought battle.
The result being six tries all.
