This was a thrilling end to end match in which Wyke managed to avenge a resounding defeat earlier in the season from Isberg at the Saggy charity match.
Also the venue for the match changed right at the last minute, and this significantly reduced the pre-match practice and preparation time for the coaches Billy and Ed.
This lack of preparation meant that Wyke were a bit sluggish at the start of the match and were soon 2- 0 down.
But once again the lads did not flinch and pulled up their socks and fought back brilliantly.
Superb runs from deep from William, Billy and Niam, all resulted in tries to Wyke, and we soon took the lead.
Wyke’s defence was also again awesome, with great last ditch tackles from Nathan, Morgan , Robbie and Kieron keeping the opposition at bay, when it looked all on that they would score.
Joe also excelled at a new position for him at dummy half and delivered many fine passes to set up Wyke’s drives.
The match was exciting for all spectators, and looked to be heading for a draw with both sides trading tries, until Niam showed immense strength and awareness to wriggle free from a 3 man Isberg tackle to dive over the line, to score in the last seconds, for a memorable victory.
