HULL WYKE: 8
(Billy Fenby x 3, Niam O’Grady, William Kynman x 2, Morgan Taft, Kieran Masike)
EAST HULL: 6
Hull Wyke U8b took control of the game from the whistle and kept East Hull well away from the try line in the very first set. We then proceeded to make excellent ground after the turnover, quickly setting Billy Fenby up for his first try.
Strong defence from Wyke continued throughout the first half, notably from Robbie Bales and William Kynman. Our offloads are improving week on week, with Keiran Masike, Billy Fenby and Morgan Taft all passing well.
Our second try came from nippy Niam O’Grady, but East Hull soon joined the scoreboard with some great dodging around our players. Samuel Lawson took in some solid drives, and Kieran Masike gave Wyke our third point under a bundle of bodies.
Strong drives from East Hull broke through our defence again, and the first half ended 3 tries to 2, in favour of Hull Wyke.
The match re-started with a brilliant run from William Kynman, who was toppled before the line, but still made enough ground to get Morgan Taft only a finger-tip away from scoring. Billy scored twice more, followed by a well deserved try from Morgan Taft who pushed through the defence with maximum strength.
Nathan Belcher and Liam Robinson made good runs, however Wyke’s defence started to slip a little as our players tired and East Hull got in four more in this half, including a full-length run. William Kynman squeezed a try into our corner and another one shortly before the end whistle.
The game was well matched and ended up 8 tries to 6 in favour of Hull Wyke U8b, who are now unbeaten for the last 3 fixtures.
