Well done to both teams displaying fantastic rugby, good behaviour and representing the club in a professional manner.
U9’s got drawn in the tough group with defending champions East Leeds but ended the first group games top of the league on try difference. The tournament system meant Wyke would have to play the best runner up overall in the group stages in the semi-final. This was another encounter with East Leeds who they had beaten earlier that morning. After being cheered on by the supporting Wyke U10’s they were in the Final against Blackbrook Royals.
A tough close game with try’s scored after each set, Wyke were only beaten by the clock. 14mins of excellent rugby echoed by the Leeds Foundation officials and evidence that competitive rugby can bring out the best in players.
