Hull Wyke Rugby League are pleased to announce their new coaching structure for our First team who currently play in the Yorkshire Men’s League.

Due to early retirement from playing because of injury we would like to welcome Ben Pennington as Head Coach as he begins the next chapter of his rugby career.

Ben brings with him experience of playing at NCL level and representing the GB Army team in the World Cup.

Speaking to the club Ben said “I haven’t lost my appetite for the game, so coaching was my obvious next step. Once I was aware of the opportunity, I didn’t hesitate to throw my name in the hat.

It’s an honour to become Head coach of a club this size and with the reputation Hull Wyke has amongst the game. These facilities are “Elite” and amongst the best in the country, I can’t wait to get started and work with the lads and take this team to the next level”

Also moving into the set up after a steady introduction to coaching over the last few months is Joe Moore.

Joe states “after 20 years at the club playing through the whole junior section it’s a great opportunity to work alongside Ben on taking the team to new heights. I will relish the challenge both on and off the field. We have a lot of young players in this squad who hopefully can develop alongside the experienced ones which can only be good for the future.

Head of Rugby Craig Beaumont says “I’m really excited for the future with the new coach set up we are creating. Young enthusiastic coaches who really want to take the team to where we aim to go. I urge any players who want be part of this journey to contact the club and come see what’s on offer”

The applications for the post were of a very good standard and we would like to thank those unsuccessful candidates for their time.
