Hull wyke under 9s started the game against a well drilled Beverley braves team in fine form after a good start to the season. The game was played on a pitch smaller than we have played on in recent weeks so the forwards really had to take control. They did with great runs from Elliot Johnson, Finley Chapman, Lennie Clark and Jack Lawler. Which set up Ben Johnson to scoot over in the corner. Again been on a small pitch our backs had to come in to get the ball so Seb Hawtree and Jacob hill went on winding runs up field and good ball to James Farrar saw him score. A good ball from Ryan Hall on the restart saw Ben Johnson score another. Quickly after this Ryan made a darting run and went over for a quick try himslf.
After a number of subs Jay Kirby made a barnstorming run so Wyke could prepare for a training ground play with a ball from Ben to set up Lennie for a try. The defence in this game really stood the test especially our wingers in Seb, Jacob, Dylan Yeaman, and Joe Wood. Will Kirby then took the game by scoring two quick tries and upping his work rate in defence which he was rewared with by parents man of the match. Isaac Craven then came on and is improving week on week.
Special mention goes to big Jack Horsefield as it was his first game he did well in his short spells. The game finished with a well worked try for James Farrar.
Well done today boys now we have Butlins to look forward to. See you at training Saturday.
