Leigh Lancaster King - RIP

We received the sad news over the weekend that Leigh, daughter of John Phillipson had passed away after a long term battle with a brain tumour.

Deepest sympathies to her family and close friends from all at our club.

Leigh was first diagnosed with an Atrocytoma brain tumour at the age of 24 in January 2009 after having a seizure when her daughter was a baby. The specialist team at Hull Royal Infirmary removed as much of the tumour as they could and she was then treated with radiation to destroy any remaining tumour.

She has been under constant assessment since then and for five years was given the all-clear. However, in August 2014 the tumour returned and she has been on the chemotherapy drug Temozolmide ever since.
